Objective: 

• Form a Sector Council for the Plastics Industry with an objective of developing national occupational standards for training
• Sell the concept to key players including CEO's, Labour Unions and Educational Institutions across Canada
• Bring together the key players for a kick off meeting coordinating the venue and logistics

Challenges

• Extremely short period of time to bring it together
• Coordinating around varying schedules for key players
• Governance issues

Success

• Kick off meeting successfully organized bringing together over 40 key players including individuals from each of the required groups
• Hired facilitator to work through governance issues
• Successfully managed government compliance including budget, communication and documentation
• Plastic Sector council began working together as a council
